Accusations of scrim VOD sharing have once again shaken the VALORANT esports community, particularly in the VCT Pacific region. The controversy gained momentum after a tense encounter between DRX coach Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon and TALON Esports coach Hector “FrosT” Rosario ahead of their Stage 1 Playoffs matchup on May 4.

In an unusual display of animosity on stage, FrosT publicly refused a traditional pre-match fist bump from termi, a gesture typically reserved for mutual respect and sportsmanship. The incident, captured live during the VCT broadcast, has since become symbolic of deeper tensions brewing behind the scenes.

When asked to elaborate on his actions during a post-match interview, FrosT pointed to a longstanding personal conflict with the DRX coach dating back to the previous VCT season. “There’s real smoke between us. It’s just a me and him thing that probably would never be resolved, and that’s okay,” he stated, hinting that termi had wronged him on multiple occasions.

The public snub and subsequent comments reignited a broader discussion surrounding scrim sharing—where teams allegedly leak or exchange practice footage to gain a strategic edge. The issue, though previously whispered about in competitive circles, is now under a more intense spotlight.

Former TALON player Peter “Governor” No revealed that concerns over scrim leaks aren’t new. “I have nothing to gain now from saying this but last year on TLN we had proof of some teams scrim sharing and showed it but yeah Riot just didn’t really care and told us they couldn’t enforce anything from what I understood,” he said. “I do think it should be enforced as a rule though.”

The problem, it seems, extends beyond just the Pacific region. Wolves Esports Head Coach Hoc Wah “Fayde” Chong remarked, “Unfortunately scrim sharing happens way often than you can imagine, and I’ve experienced it against my team before.” Meanwhile, Team Liquid’s assistant coach Daniel “yaotziN” Roczniak added, “Let’s be honest, scrim sharing is a huge problem that everyone already accepted. I’m taking it under consideration already for 3 years while planning praccs ahead.”

TALON-affiliated streamer and on-air talent Jessica “Jess” Bolden also weighed in, calling the moment between FrosT and termi “iconic.” She stated: “This is such a raw moment. He stood on that stage and made a choice not to acknowledge someone who had wronged him multiple times over. It’s brave because not everyone knows what caused that… but he knows… and he finally got to control what happens.”

In response to the growing discourse, DRX coach termi issued a public statement on May 4, categorically denying the allegations. “DRX has never leaked scrims. If anything, we were victims of a scrim leak back in 2021 and know the feeling all too well,” he wrote. He went on to say he would retire immediately if any credible evidence surfaced proving DRX’s involvement.

Several players from other Korean teams have since backed termi. Gen.G’s Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom and T1’s Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh have publicly stated that they were not involved in any form of scrim sharing.
