The Federal Trade Commission has claimed that Microsoft deviated from its position during its acquisition of Activision Blizzard by laying off 1,900 employees from its games division in January.
FTC lawyer Imad Abyad argued in a letter submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday that Microsoft had initially stated its intention for the acquisition of Activision to result in it "operating as a limited-integration studio." However, Abyad contended that the layoffs affecting Activision employees contradict this assertion
