One of the most well known personas of LEC is no more.
"11 LEC Trophies. First Stand Finals. Countless banger drafts. Thank you for everything," G2 wrote, closing the most decorated coaching run in LEC history.
The exit itself actually happened weeks ago in everything but paperwork. G2 Esports moved Falco to the inactive roster on 10 July, hours after a 3-0 defeat to LYON in the MSI semi-finals, and promoted Perkz in his stead. At the time the org said Falco remained part of G2 and a proper goodbye video would follow when he officially left. Seven weeks later, here it is.
The record
Falco joined in December 2021 from Fnatic and Schalke 04, having taken Fnatic to the Worlds 2018 final with two EU LCS titles along the way, which was quite a story.
At G2: eleven LEC titles, three MSI top-four finishes, a First Stand Grand Final this year after beating Gen.G, and a Worlds quarter-final in 2025 as his best showing at the big one.
His drafting was the signature. Unconventional enough that it became a recurring talking point, and G2 singled it out in the farewell rather than the trophy count.
Not a firing, apparently
Reporting at the time framed it as a philosophical choice rather than a response to the LYON loss. G2 faced a decision between two ways of working and went with novelty and potential, with the Falco and Perkz working relationship described as functional rather than strained.
Retired coach Peter Dun stated "If Dylan was not G2's coach, KC would have won 2 splits this year. And I don't say this lightly, both series were close enough that coaching staff was the difference. It's obvious what his impact is. G2 are not stupid."
Perkz, in his first head coaching role has had the job since the Esports World Cup. He won eight LEC titles and MSI 2019 with G2 as a player, which remains Europe's only international trophy.
Falco's next move hasn't been announced yet.
