According to recent reports, Fishlabs will lay off 50 employees. The parent company, Plaion, subsequently confirmed that the cuts will be a part of a restructuring effort. Established in 2004, Fishlabs, a Hamburg-based developer renowned for the Galaxy on Fire series, faced financial challenges in 2013, leading to the laying off of 25 employees. Plaion, formerly known as Koch Media, and now part of Embracer's operating group, Deep Silver, acquired the studio to facilitate its continued operations.
