Into The Breach has announced it will be "winding down operations" following what it described as "significant mismanagement within the organization." In an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the team revealed that an individual responsible for all financial and monetary decisions had been embezzling funds for personal use.
The person in question, Sam "SlayTheMinotaur" Cook, admitted to operating "as two people." While he worked to match the efforts of his staff and players in striving for success, he also acknowledged being a "destructive, alcoholic narcissist hellbent on self-immolation."
In response to a post about the situation, Sam admitted to taking "around £600k in director's loans" at improper times and without following the correct procedures. He further revealed that Into The Breach earned approximately "£4m in 2023" and is projected to make "around £1.5m by 2024."

2023 marked the team's most successful year, highlighted by its Counter-Strike roster qualifying for the BLAST Paris Major. The squad finished in the top eight, earning USD$45,000. However, the team's main financial source was the sticker money from that competition. According to Sam's post, he paid the players from various sources, amounting to "around $241,071.61 per player."
