In a surprising turn of events that briefly rocked the fighting game community, Arslan "Arslan Ash" Siddique — widely considered the most decorated player in Tekken history — discovered he had been blocked on X (formerly Twitter) by Tekken 8 Game Director Katsuhiro Harada. The news, shared by Arslan Ash himself via a screenshot, quickly ignited confusion and backlash among fans.

Arslan Ash, who has recently faced challenges with visa issues preventing him from attending major tournaments such as EVO Japan and the Riyadh Cup, expressed his shock at the unexpected block with a flurry of question marks. The post quickly went viral, with many in the community expressing outrage.

Speculation spread that the block may have stemmed from Arslan’s outspoken critiques of Tekken 8. One fan tweeted, “Harada and Murray are straight-up sabotaging their own game at this point. Blocking the best Tekken player, zero communication, and ignoring real issues. Instead of listening, they’re shutting people down. It’s embarrassing.”

Others warned that such a move could have larger implications for the game’s future. “The face of Tekken being blocked by the head of Tekken. Insane, especially when you realise that Arslan could legit stop playing Tekken and go pro in City of the Wolves extremely quickly, especially with EWC round the corner,” one fan noted. “I don’t think people realise that if Arslan decided to just stop playing Tekken a massive amount of players would probably drop Tekken.”

However, the controversy was soon put to rest after Harada publicly addressed the situation. The game director explained that the block was entirely accidental — the result of a misunderstanding while using the app in a second language and managing replies from trolls. Harada admitted this kind of mishap has happened before, even with the official Tekken account.

In a follow-up message, Arslan Ash confirmed that he had spoken with Harada in private DMs and the issue had been resolved. “I thought maybe I did something wrong but it was just a misunderstanding. Everything is good,” Arslan posted.
