PUBG Vietnam is having a crisis.
South Korean streamer Soopi on the opening day of PUBG Asia Stars 2026said Himass and TanVuu were watching her livestream to locate her.
Following this accusations, both lost their PUBG Vietnam Partner status immediately.
On 22 September the publisher acknowledged it had rushed to announce unverified information about these accusations. The following day KRAFTON for those errors, and stated after reviewing official broadcasts, participant footage, in-game data and replays, it found both players had used external information during matches.
La Phuong Tien Dat of Anyone's Legend and Tran Tan Vu of The Expendables had their PUBG accounts permanently banned and were disqualified for life from every Krafton-sanctioned competitions worldwide.
Why Vietnam didn't accept it
Vietnamese fans stated that this was an exhibition event. The punishment was too heavy ended two professional careers permanently, with Krafton's own admission of procedural failure.
Another point is that players argue tournament rules were never clearly established from the outset.
Do Mixi removed the game from his computer. DjChip and Rambo followed. PewPew said he'd support both players. Esports clubs joined in, and gaming cafe owners started uninstalling PUBG despite the hit to their own business.
TanVuu deleted the game during a livestream on 22 September and said he'd focus on streaming instead. Himass posted a farewell on Friday thanking fans.
Krafton's market value fell by over 4.4 trillion Vietnamese dong.
The licensing problem, which is not the same story
Following that VietNamNet reported on 22 September that PUBG: Battlegrounds on PC has never held an official publishing license in Vietnam.
The PC version is distributed through Steam, Epic, PlayStation and Xbox. PUBG Mobile operates separately and legally through VNGGames.
Also PUBG Vietnam Series 2026 Phase 2 disappeared from the official schedules and Krafton's Vietnamese social channels went dark across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
Krafton has not said those moves are connected to the Asia Stars controversy, and nothing establishes that they are. Treating the timing as causation would be guessing.
Some ISPs have reportedly begun restricting Steam access. Players outside Vietnam are unaffected.
What actually decides this
The ban triggered the anger, but the licensing gap determines whether PUBG PC remains accessible in Vietnam at all. The things worth watching are whether Vietnamese regulators issue a formal decision, and whether Krafton or a local partner pursues the authorisation PUBG Mobile already has.
