Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), the iconic Swedish esports organisation, has appointed Grant Rousseau as its new Chief Operating Officer. The move comes shortly after Rousseau's departure from Saudi Arabian powerhouse Team Falcons, where he played a key role in the organisation's back-to-back victories at the Esports World Cup.

In his new role, Rousseau will take charge of NiP’s expanding esports operations, overseeing both competitive and non-competitive performance across the organisation’s global roster of teams. According to a press release, he will “focus on driving both the competitive and non-competitive performance” of the organisation.

Rousseau joins forces with Ninjas in Pyjamas’ Co-CEOs Hicham Chahine and Mario Ho as the company continues to scale its presence in multiple esports titles. The NiP Group currently fields top-tier teams in Counter-Strike and operates a League of Legends team in China’s prestigious LPL. Beyond those, the organisation is active in a wide range of games including Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, Honor of Kings, Rainbow Six Siege X, Crossfire, Rocket League, and Street Fighter.

Rousseau brings with him extensive experience in esports leadership. He previously served as Director of Operations for Splyce and UK-based Excel Esports (now known as GIANTX), where he was instrumental in securing Excel's entry into the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). He also had a stint at Guild Esports, a now-defunct UK organisation that has since come under scrutiny for leaving multiple staff members unpaid.
