Roblox is getting ready to enter the esports scene with a brand new competition called the Roblox Creator Showdown. The tournament will be held in Los Angeles, California, on December 4 at 2 PM PT, which is 10 PM GMT. Eight popular content creators will battle for a share of fifty thousand dollars.

Roblox explained in its announcement that the event is meant to bring its worldwide community closer together. The company said it wants to celebrate the people who build games and make videos on its platform. This move also comes during a strong year for Roblox. The platform passed one trillion views on YouTube earlier this summer.

The eight creators will be placed into four teams. They will face off in several Roblox games during the event. Mimi “aEvlicat” Wermcrantz, a well known esports host, will lead the show. She will be joined by Bundun, an Australian Roblox creator.

The main title for the competition is Ink Game, which is based on the popular Netflix series Squid Game. Other games in the lineup include Tower of Hell, Rivals, and Blue Lock Rivals. These games cover different genres like first person shooters, survival challenges, and obstacle courses. Fans will also be able to vote for special wildcard games that can help teams earn extra points.
