Shion is the newest damage hero joining Overwatch with Season 3: Into the Tiger's Den, and she stands out before you even look at her kit. As Overwatch's 52nd hero, she's the franchise's first human-faced Omnic, deliberately stepping outside the openly mechanical look of characters like Zenyatta and Ramattra, with only the cybernetic speakers in her neck and faint identification dots beneath her hair marking her as a robot.

Lore-wise she's the most feared elder of the Hashimoto Clan, the Japanese crime syndicate tied to Talon's operations and, notably, to the Shimada family, since the Hashimoto were responsible for assassinating Hanzo and Genji's father, Sojiro. She launches free for all players on June 16, 2026, alongside a new Tokyo-inspired Hybrid map, Neon Junction, modelled on Akihabara and long requested by the community.

Shion's Abilities, Passive, and Ultimate

Shion is a high-mobility, flanking damage hero built around constant movement. While not quite as slippery as Tracer, her kit gives her plenty of tools to dart in and out of fights, headlined by the genuinely unusual ability to weaponise her motorcycle. Her full kit is as follows:

Kira Pistols (weapon): Rapid-fire anima pistols.

Execution: Fire an X-shaped volley. Hold to tighten its spread.

Evade: Dash and briefly gain overhealth.

Joyride: Rev your engine. Reactivate to dismount and launch your bike forward.

Satsuriku Spree (Ultimate): Rush forward three times in a storm of gunfire.

Subrole: Flanker (passive): Health packs restore more health.

Joyride is the standout, letting Shion ride her bike freely around the map before dismounting to hurl it into enemies for explosive damage, and she can even launch it skyward to knock down flying targets.

Shion's Minor and Major Perks

Shion's Perks let players lean into different parts of her kit, but one in particular defines her ceiling. Her perks are:

Rapid Reload (Minor): Evade reloads 9 ammo.

X Machina (Minor): Execution deals 20% more damage to enemies below half health.

Refuel (Major): Joyride instantly restores 50 health and regenerates 20 health per second while active, effectively turning the bike into a moving pit stop.

Faces of Death (Major): Grants all other Damage subrole passives (Recon, Specialist, and Sharpshooter).

Faces of Death is the most interesting perk in her kit, since it hands her every DPS passive at once with no tradeoff, a significant power spike. The Specialist passive's faster reload after eliminations keeps her in fights longer, while Sharpshooter's reduced movement-ability cooldowns on critical hits, paired with Rapid Reload, can make her relentless in skilled hands. On top of that, the Recon passive reveals any enemy she damages below half health, feeding directly into her flanking, hit-and-run identity.

Season 3: Into the Tiger's Den launches June 16, 2026 at 11am PT across all platforms, continuing the game's Reign of Talon storyline, with full patch notes expected to confirm any final tuning at launch.
