More than three years after the original Old-West-meets-sci-fi collection, Neo Frontier returns as a 2.0 bundle. It arrives July 30, though leakers have pointed to a July 29-30 window that may vary slightly by region. As an Exclusive-tier collection, it's limited-time, expected to stay in the store around two weeks, and crucially it won't appear in the Night Market afterward, so it's a grab-it-or-wait-indefinitely situation.
What's Included
The standard bundle covers three cosmetics:
- Vandal skin, notably filling a gap, since the original Neo Frontier skipped the Vandal entirely and it's the piece players wanted most
- Shorty skin, a fitting cowboy sidearm
- Lasso melee, the standout, and the first lasso melee in Valorant's history
Each keeps the dual-identity design of the original, with a grounded Wild West look and a glowing sci-fi transformation, plus colour variants on the sci-fi versions. Weapons carry four upgrade levels and four variants; the melee has two upgrade levels and four variants. The animations are the selling point, with the Shorty getting a flip pullout and reload, the Vandal a mag-spin reload and inspect, and the lasso a spin-during-inspect and whip attack, backed by unique audio and a music track that differs between the old and sci-fi forms.
The Mega Bundle
Alongside it, Riot is launching a "Run It Back: Neo Frontier" mega bundle that packages the full skinline together: Sheriff, Marshal, Phantom, Vandal, Shorty, and the Lasso melee. It's a way to grab both the returning original skins and the new 2.0 additions at a discount.
Pricing
Riot hasn't officially confirmed prices, but estimates are firming up. The standard three-item bundle is expected to land around 6,700 VP, in line with previous two-skin-plus-melee sets like RGX 3.0. The mega bundle is unconfirmed but expected to exceed 9,000 VP. For reference, the original Neo Frontier was an Exclusive-tier set that cost 8,700 VP for five weapons.
One mild criticism already circulating: for a cowboy-themed collection with room to spare, some players are puzzled Riot didn't include the Outlaw or the Bandit, two weapons that would have fit the theme perfectly. Still, the lasso melee alone has generated plenty of buzz, and the long-awaited Vandal should be enough to open a lot of wallets when the bundle drops on July 30.
