content | Text | | Rainbow Six: Siege esports team [[Companies/M80|M80]]'s head coach, Matheus '[[People/Budega|Budega]]' Figueiredo, and team manager, Igor ‘Vivas‘ Vivas, were "ejected" from the 2025 Six Invitational by Ubisoft after an "altercation" that was partly captured on camera. The incident occurred after M80 lost a match 2-1 to DarkZero Esports, with Budega shouting at DarkZero players and, at one point, needing to be physically restrained from continuing his confrontation with one of the players.
Budega can be heard yelling in the background of an interview clip, and the beginnings of the altercation were streamed live (with the memorable commentary line: "who says esports is boring?"). The incident took place during the third and final map, with the match tied, after DarkZero was awarded a free round due to a rule violation by Budega. When DarkZero secured the match, Budega began shouting and got up in the faces of several opposition players, appearing to barge into DarkZero player Nathan ‘Nafe’ Sharp. Officials quickly intervened.

Budega was promptly escorted from the venue, followed by Vivas. After the incident, Budega confirmed he had been warned twice (in now-deleted posts, but still accessible) and responded by defending his actions. "A member of BLAST’s staff is making false accusations about me, saying that I physically intimidated him," said Budega, who was seen on the livestream getting physically close to other competitors, gesturing wildly, and remonstrating. "That’s a lie and the fact that someone has the courage to lie about that makes me sick."
Despite the footage, he continued, "I shouted things amid the heat of the moment that could have been avoided like, 'Whoever made that decision should be fired', but I never touched anyone and my conscience is clean, I still have chances for my 'ban' to be reverted." |
