content | Text | | Call of Duty's battle royale, Warzone, has been in a rough patch lately, with players expressing frustration over a range of issues, and many content creators turning to other games. One major concern is the persistent problem of cheating, which continues to plague the game, especially in Ranked Play.
[[Companies/Activision|Activision]] recently quashed any hopes of players being able to turn off crossplay for Ranked Play, even as cheating remains rampant. Among the hacks being exploited are cheats that allow players to crash entire lobbies or even mass-report others to trigger false bans. One user shared a clip claiming they were shadow banned after eliminating a cheater, while another alleged hacker posted a screenshot of a cheat tool that lets them report a player up to 100 times. This triggers RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, causing the player to be removed from the server for a review of their account. There’s also a hack that appears to enable players to kick others from the game by crashing the lobby.

Despite multiple blog posts from Activision in recent weeks outlining their plans to address the cheating problem, it seems a fix won't arrive before the holiday break or anytime soon after.
“Cheating remains our top priority, particularly in our Ranked Play environment, and we want to acknowledge the impact it’s having on our players,” Raven Software said on Twitter/X today. “We are working closely with the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team to pinpoint the sources of this behavior and take the necessary steps to protect our players. This is a matter that we hold close to our heart, as it affects everyone – developers and players alike.” |
