Hartman has been with Microsoft since 2005, primarily leading Turn 10 and the Forza franchise. He assumed leadership of Xbox Game Studios last year and has contributed to notable franchises like Age of Empires and Fable. Duncan, who has led Rare for nearly 14 years, is recognized for overseeing the studio's Kinect titles and the successful launch of Sea of Thieves, which has attracted over 40 million players since its 2018 release. Recently, he attended the 2024 GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards, where Rare won three awards. Joe Neate and Jim Horth will replace Duncan at Rare. Neate has been with Rare since 2013 and has served as executive producer for Sea of Thieves. Horth, a Rare team member for over 20 years, has held various roles, most recently as studio director.
