contentTextThis is the first edition of the tournament since 2017 to use a direct invite process for team selection and the first since 2019 to include open qualifiers. The Road to The International 2024 Group Stage will not eliminate any teams initially. Instead, the top two teams from each group will select the bottom two seeds from the opposite group for the Seeding Decider. Winners will advance to the Upper Bracket of the Main Stage, while losers will move to the Lower Bracket where the first eliminations will occur. Group A Group A includes 1W Team, Gaimin Gladiators, HEROIC, and Xtreme Gaming. Gaimin Gladiators and Xtreme Gaming are the favorites, with Gaimin showing strong recent form. HEROIC and 1W Team will look to make an impact as underdogs. Group B Group B features Talon Esports, Tundra Esports, G2 x iG, and Cloud9. With no direct invites, this group is open. Tundra benefits from having TI Champion Martin “Saksa” Sazdov as a stand-in. Group C Group C has Team Falcons, BetBoom Team, nouns, and Team Zero. Team Falcons leads the ESL Pro Tour Leaderboard, with BetBoom Team also strong. Nouns, featuring Nicolas “Gunnar” Lopez, is favored over Team Zero. Group D Group D includes defending champions Team Spirit, Team Liquid, Aurora Gaming, and beastcoast. Team Liquid is the main threat to Spirit, while Aurora Gaming aims to surpass expectations once again.
