ARC Raiders is already making waves in the extraction shooter scene. During its ongoing “server slam test”, which allows players free access ahead of its October 30 release, ARC Raiders has surged past expectations — peaking at 189,668 concurrent players on Steam.
That figure cements ARC Raiders as the most-played extraction shooter on Steam to date, outpacing established and upcoming titles alike.
Developed by Embark Studios the team behind The Finals ARC Raiders blends third-person combat with high-stakes extraction mechanics in a robot-ravaged world. Players scavenge for loot, tackle dynamic objectives, and try to make it out alive against hostile threats, both mechanical and human.
The current stress test is not only a final tune-up for servers but also a powerful marketing beat. The overwhelming turnout and positive community reception have turned the test into a viral success, with many calling ARC Raiders a top contender for best extraction shooter of the year.
ARC Raiders vs. The Field:
Steam peak concurrent player counts for comparison:
ARC Raiders – 189,668
Gray Zone Warfare – 72,548
Arena Breakout: Infinite – 66,007
Escape from Duckov – 61,066
Dark and Darker – 57,164
The Cycle: Frontier – 40,854
Even Escape from Tarkov, the genre’s spiritual leader, hasn’t matched those numbers on Steam yet. The long-awaited Steam release of Tarkov is scheduled for November 15, with over 500,000 players adding it to their wishlists. Still, that places it only 67th on Steam’s global wishlist tracker, suggesting ARC Raiders could maintain its lead at least for now.
