Double Loop Games officials announced the closure of the studio. The company was founded in 2020 and secured an $8m investment. Most of the staff was snatched by Scopely. Emily Greer announced "We’re very sad to announce that Double Loop Games is shutting down after four great years. Shelby Moledina and I are so proud of the team, culture, and games we’ve built in that time. Unfortunately, like many other small studios in 2023, we struggled to break through in a very hostile funding and marketing environment, particularly for mobile games. In November we received an offer from Scopely to bring on most of the team to work on a new project within their casual GSN studio, and decided to accept."
