Krafton, the publisher behind hits like Subnautica 2 and PUBG, has unveiled its plans to transform into an "AI-first company," placing artificial intelligence at the heart of its operations. The move is part of a broader strategy to enhance productivity, drive innovation, and secure long-term growth.
In a recent statement issued in Korean and translated for international audiences, Krafton emphasized its commitment to AI as a primary tool for solving problems and advancing the company's goals. The company outlined its vision to leverage AI to drive change across both individual employees and organizational processes, with the ultimate aim of increasing efficiency and accelerating corporate value.
As part of this transformation, Krafton revealed plans for a comprehensive reorganization of its structure. The company will invest a significant $69.7 million (100 billion Korean won) into a new GPU cluster designed to support "sophisticated reasoning and iterative planning." This investment will help the company advance its AI capabilities and better equip its teams to utilize the technology in the creative and development process.
Additionally, Krafton will allocate $20.8 million (30 million won) to retrain its workforce, ensuring employees are well-versed in using AI tools to enhance their work. These steps are part of a broader effort to foster a company-wide shift toward AI-centric practices.
Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han shared the company's vision for this transition, stating, “Starting today, Krafton will automate work centred on Agentic AI and fully implement an AI-centred management system where members focus on creative activities and complex problem solving." He added, “We will leap forward as a company that promotes the growth of members and expands the organisation's areas of challenge through AI.”
