Moon Beast Productions has raised $4.5 million in seed funding. The independent game studio, founded by Phil Shenk, Peter Hu, and Erich Schaefer, secured backing from "a network of notable angel investors," including Gaingels, Cohh Carnage, and Mark Pincus. The round was led by 1AM Gaming, with additional participation from 1UP Ventures, The Mini Fund, Overwolf, and Versus Ventures.
The studio described the funding as a "critical moment" that will allow it to expand while "maintaining the lean, focused approach that has defined it since inception." The investment will also support the development of an action RPG that "challenges conventional design paradigms."
