TL;DR
- ESL has revealed the roster of teams directly invited to IEM Atlanta 2026 with 13 confirmed squads and three more to be decided in closed qualifiers.
- High-profile teams like FURIA, G2 Esports, Team Spirit, The MongolZ and others have declined invitations, likely due to schedule conflicts with PGL Astana 2026.
- The tournament runs May 11–17, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia at DreamHack Atlanta, offering ranking points and a $1 million prize pool.
Organisers of Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta 2026 have unveiled the full list of invited Counter-Strike 2 teams competing in the main tournament and closed qualifiers, shaping up one of the most talked-about Tier 1 events of the spring season.
Taking place from May 11–17, 2026, at the Georgia World Congress Center in the United States as part of DreamHack Atlanta, the event will gather 16 teams battling for glory, valuable Valve Regional Standings points and part of a shared $1 million USD prize pool.
Confirmed Main Event Invites
Thirteen teams have accepted direct invitations, highlighted by some of the biggest names in global Counter-Strike:
- Team Vitality
- Natus Vincere (NAVI)
- FaZe Clan
- Team Liquid
- NRG
- Legacy
- B8 Esports
- Astralis
- GamerLegion
- FUT Esports
- paiN Gaming
- M80
- BC.Game Esports
Three additional slots remain open and will be filled via closed qualifiers. Two will come from the Global Closed Qualifier and one from the Americas Closed Qualifier, where teams like Fnatic and Passion UA are among the squads confirmed to compete for those final places.
Notable Declines Shake Up the Tournament
In a twist that has drawn attention across the CS2 community, several top-ranked organisations opted not to participate in Atlanta. Teams including FURIA, G2 Esports, Team Spirit, The MongolZ, Parivision, MOUZ, and Team Falcons declined their invitations.
Industry observers point to a scheduling clash with PGL Astana 2026 as a key reason many elite teams chose alternative events instead. The overlap has reshaped the competitive field and opened doors for other contenders to seize the spotlight.
