Companies/MicrosoftMicrosoft has announced that subscribers to its Core and Standard Xbox Game Pass tiers may face delays of up to 12 months or more before accessing new titles from its first-party studios. This update clarifies changes made to the Game Pass service in the past month.
According to a recent Xbox Wire post, only the $12/month PC tier and the $20/month Ultimate tier will include benefits such as EA Play membership and access to Xbox's day-one releases. In contrast, Core ($10/month) and Standard ($15/month) subscribers will have access to a curated selection of 25 high-quality games and hundreds of games, respectively, but will not receive immediate access to new first-party titles.

All console tiers will include online console membership, and all four tiers will offer member deals and discounts. The revised structure emphasizes that the Core and Standard tiers will no longer feature day-one releases from Xbox's first-party studios, which were previously available.
"Some games coming to Game Pass Ultimate (day one games or other game entries) will not be immediately available with Game Pass Standard and may be added to the library at a future date (can be up to 12 months or more and will vary by title)," stated senior community lead of Xbox Game Pass, Megan Spurr.
