1047 Games has confirmed that Splitgate 2 will relaunch later this year, following the conclusion of its final beta playtest. The free-to-play arena shooter is preparing for a second attempt at a full release after returning to beta earlier in 2025 due to an underwhelming global launch.

The game’s last beta session ran from November 22–23, 2025, marking the end of a six-month period focused on rebuilding core systems and gathering player feedback. During this phase, fans tested updated party modes, loadout and classic arenas, the Karman Station map, and several gameplay refinements designed to address widespread community concerns.

In its announcement, 1047 Games wrote: “On December 4th, the Beta Season & active Battle Passes will be ending, alongside your seasonal ‘rank’ progress. We will also be taking the Beta servers offline on the 4th to prepare for relaunch later in December.”

Splitgate 2’s initial 2025 release drew mixed reception. Players criticized multiple aspects of the game including its anked system, progression, and cosmetic bundle pricing leading to mounting pressure on the studio. The situation worsened as public controversies surfaced, such as CEO Ian Proulx’s choice of headwear at Summer Game Fest and an apology from the studio’s social media manager for comments directed at Call of Duty developers.

Following the game’s retreat back into beta, layoffs at 1047 Games sparked further concern among fans regarding Splitgate 2’s long-term future. However, the announcement of a firm relaunch window suggests the studio is confident that player feedback over the past several months has helped reshape the game into a stronger product.
