Bad News Eagles was a professional Counter-Strike team based in Kosovo, known for competing in both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and later Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). Notably, the team operated without an official organization, making their rise and consistency in top-tier tournaments especially impressive.
Formation and Early Success (2022–2023) Bad News Eagles initially rose to prominence in 2022, fielding a core lineup of talented Kosovar players. The squad delivered several strong performances at international events, including:
Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022: Finished 12th–14th, earning $20,000.
Tipsport Cup Prague 2022: Secured 1st place and a $20,395 prize.
In 2023, they continued to prove themselves:
CCT South Europe Series & Central Europe Malta Finals: Multiple 2nd-place finishes with consistent performances against top-tier teams such as Aurora Gaming and Eternal Fire.
ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2023: Runner-up finish to Movistar Riders, taking home $20,000.
BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: Achieved 12th–14th place after a tough loss to FaZe Clan, earning another $20,000.
RES Adriatic League Season 2: Crowned champions after a clean 2:0 win over Zero Tenacity, earning $4,566.42.
Reformation and Final Chapter (2025) On February 1, 2025, Bad News Eagles officially reformed, announcing a returning lineup composed of:
SENER1 (Sener Mahmuti)
gxx- (Genc Kolgeci)
juanflatroo (Flatron Halimi)
sinnopsyy (Dionis Budeci)
rigoN (Rigon Gashi – Swiss national with Kosovar roots)
Shortly after, on February 18, 2025, veteran coach peacemaker joined the team to guide them through the CS2 competitive landscape.
However, after only a few months, on June 29, 2025, the team officially disbanded, bringing an end to one of the most beloved and independent lineups in the CS scene.
