Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the Meta Quest 3S, a new virtual and mixed reality headset set to launch on October 15. Preorders are now available for two models: a 128 GB version priced at $299 and a 256 GB version for $399.
The Meta Quest 3S is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and includes Touch Plus controllers with inside-out tracking. Key differences from the Quest 3 include a lower display resolution of 1832 x 1920 per eye.

Fresnel lenses instead of pancake lenses, and a slightly narrower field of view (96 degrees horizontal and 90 degrees vertical). The front cameras have been redesigned, maintaining the same passthrough capabilities.
