Chinese esports organization Invictus Gaming has officially completed a major restructuring process and secured new strategic investments, marking a new chapter for the team.
The announcement, made on November 30, 2024, was shared through the team's official Weibo account, signaling the beginning of a fresh era for iG. The undisclosed investment round is led by prominent Chinese live-streaming platform Huya and multi-channel network (MCN) company Young Sports.
According to reports from Esports Advocate, iG’s founder, Wang Sicong, will remain the team’s largest shareholder. Wang is the only son of Wang Jianlin, the billionaire founder of the Dalian Wanda Group, a major player in real estate development in China.
iG is best known for making history in 2018 by becoming the first-ever Chinese team to win the League of Legends World Championship. With a strong presence in both League of Legends and Dota 2, the organization has cultivated a passionate fanbase in China.
With the 2025 League of Legends World Championship set to return to China, iG is focused on building a competitive roster to contend for the prestigious title. The team is reportedly re-signing former world champion players Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok and Song ‘Rookie’ Eui-jin, both of whom were key members of iG’s 2018 winning squad.
iG is set to reveal its full roster on December 8, 2024, during a special event at the Chengdu Gaoxin Sports Center.
