Hasan criticized Asmongold’s use of "edgy" humor, particularly in relation to anti-Semitism and Nazi dog whistles, after reacting to a clip where Asmongold responds to a comment in his chat about 4chan users claiming he was Jewish. Asmongold denied the accusations, explaining he was German, "the opposite" of Jewish, and telling viewers to "get that idea out of your fucking head." This clip, combined with previous statements and jokes Asmongold made on stream, seemed to push Hasan to speak out. He argued that while Asmongold might not personally endorse Nazi ideology, his actions were still creating a space where Nazis could feel comfortable.

Hasan emphasized that, from his perspective, the intention behind Asmongold's comments didn’t matter. "At this point, you have opened up your environment to Nazis," he said. "You’re giving them a space to operate, and your intention doesn't matter." Hasan also pointed to a joke Asmongold made about being "99 percent sure" the Holocaust happened, which he later clarified by saying he was fully certain. Despite the clarification, Hasan believed the original comment could still attract people who deny the Holocaust, making them feel like Asmongold's stream was a safe space to promote those views, disguised as humor.
