Blizzard has officially unveiled a major Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter crossover event, set to launch on May 20, bringing eight new character skins inspired by Capcom’s iconic fighting franchise. The announcement was made during EVO Japan, accompanied by a stylish animated trailer that showcases some of the new looks in action.

In the cinematic reveal, Juno—dressed as Chun-Li—faces off against Widowmaker, channeling Cammy, in a dramatic street brawl. The fight intensifies as Hanzo, donning Ryu's signature gi and headband, joins the fray, unleashing a Hadoken to escalate the battle into a full-on melee.

More:

The crossover marks one of Overwatch 2’s most extensive collaborations to date, featuring eight character skins—a notable increase compared to previous collabs like Gundam Wing and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Here's the full lineup of Overwatch heroes and their Street Fighter counterparts:

Hanzo as Ryu

Juno as Chun-Li

Kiriko as Juri

Widowmaker as Cammy

Zenyatta as Dhalsim

Soldier: 76 as Guile

Winston as Blanka

Sigma as M. Bison

Each skin briefly appears in the trailer, capturing the essence and style of the Street Fighter originals. Fan-favorite matchups like Zenyatta’s calm Dhalsim homage and Sigma as the menacing M. Bison are already generating buzz, while Hanzo’s transformation into Ryu feels especially fitting given the character’s Japanese roots.

While Blizzard has yet to announce pricing details or in-game rewards, the trailer hints at more than just cosmetics. Hanzo is seen performing Ryu’s classic moves—Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku—suggesting that themed emotes or ability animations might accompany each skin.
