Metizport have officially announced that Adam "adamb" Ångström will part ways with the organization at the end of the month, bringing an end to a year-and-a-half tenure with the Swedish team. The 20-year-old rifler has opted not to renew his contract, choosing instead to "explore new opportunities," according to a statement released by the organization.
"After several internal discussions, Adam has decided to explore new opportunities when his contract ends on June 30th," Metizport said. "We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Adam for his incredible contributions to Metizport."
The news follows a turbulent period for Metizport, most notably their disappointing run at the BLAST.tv Austin Major. The team exited in the opening stage with a winless 0-3 record, failing to secure a single map victory. Despite the rough campaign, adamb stood out as the top performer for the team, posting a 0.87 rating across five maps — the highest on the squad — even as Metizport only managed to reach double digits in rounds on one occasion.
Since joining the team in September 2023, adamb has been a consistent performer. He maintained a strong average rating of 1.12 throughout his stint and played a central role in Metizport's historic qualification for their first-ever CS2 Major appearance.
Beyond the Major, adamb helped steer Metizport to a number of competitive milestones. The squad twice earned spots in the BLAST Premier Showdown, came close to reaching the Finals on one occasion, and claimed domestic honors by winning the Svenska Cupen 2024. Under his tenure, Metizport also briefly broke into the top 30 in both the HLTV and VRS global rankings.
