Andreessen Horowitz’s startup accelerator, A16Z Speedrun, has officially launched the application window for its sixth cohort, inviting early-stage startups to apply for a chance to receive up to $1 million in funding and access to a network of industry mentors.

Set to begin on January 26, 2026, the 12-week accelerator will culminate in a Demo Day in April, offering founders an opportunity to pitch their ventures to top investors and partners. Applications are open now and will close on September 28, 2025.

Josh Lu, principal at A16Z, expressed excitement over the momentum the accelerator has built since its inception. “We are energised by the success of so many A16Z Speedrun alumni as they redefine what's possible,” said Lu. “Each new cohort continues to inspire us with bold ideas and fresh approaches that defy simple categorisation.”

Launched in 2023, A16Z Speedrun has quickly become a notable force in the startup ecosystem, backing over 150 companies and distributing more than $180 million in funding to date. Originally focused on gaming ventures, the accelerator has since broadened its reach.

Earlier this year, the program expanded to include startups across a wider spectrum of technology and entertainment—such as 3D development tools, XR (extended reality), streaming platforms, and next-generation entertainment technologies.

“As the accelerator continues to expand and evolve, so does the potential for transformative innovation,” Lu added.

Startups accepted into Speedrun gain more than capital—they also receive strategic guidance and mentorship from experts across A16Z’s vast network, making the program an attractive launchpad for early-stage founders looking to scale quickly.
