T1 has made history once again by winning the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, defeating rival KT Rolster in a thrilling 3–2 series. With this victory, T1 becomes the first team ever to win three World Championships in a row — a true three-peat.
This win also keeps T1 ahead in the long-running Telecom War, a famous rivalry that began 13 years ago between the two South Korean teams. T1 Esports represents SK Telecom, while KT Rolster is backed by KT Corporation. The rivalry has spanned across many esports, but in League of Legends, T1 has clearly dominated — winning 53 of the 70 total matches between the two teams.

A Surprise Grand Final Matchup
Both teams had a rocky 2025 season. Entering Worlds as the lowest-seeded LCK representatives, neither T1 nor KT was expected to reach the final. But each team pulled off an incredible underdog run, leading to an all-Korean showdown in Chengdu that had fans around the world glued to their screens.
Game 1: KT started strong with an early-game lead, but T1 turned things around after winning two huge mid-game teamfights to take the first win.
Game 2: The match was full of constant skirmishes. KT’s bdd had a massive performance on Mel, helping his team tie the series 1–1.
Game 3: KT took control again, led by Cuzz’s unstoppable Mundo. T1 couldn’t deal enough damage to stop the tank, losing key objectives — and eventually, their nexus.
Game 4: Facing elimination, T1 fought back. Faker’s Anivia and a Kalista first-pick helped them dominate. Thanks to Oner’s perfect Smites, T1 secured every neutral objective and forced a deciding game five.
Game 5: In the final showdown, T1 drafted a powerful Galio/Camille combo. Despite a few mistakes that gave KT a chance to come back, T1 stayed composed and won the last crucial fights to secure the championship.
With this victory, T1 claims its sixth World Championship trophy — more than any other team in League of Legends history. The win not only cements their place as the greatest LoL dynasty of all time but also keeps them nearly undefeated in their legendary rivalry with KT Rolster.
