The Emirates Esports Federation, in collaboration with consulting and management firm ITW Global, has revealed global franchised esports league named EGL (E-Gaming League). Slated to kick off in April 2024 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the inaugural EGL will adopt a draft format, bringing together players from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America to compete. Additionally, the league will be comprised of six franchises.Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Shakbout Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Esports Federation, stated “Asia is one of the fastest-growing Esports markets currently and with Indian gamers participating in this league, this league will provide country’s talented esports athletes with the platform to showcase their ability.
