India is coming to consoles.
1312 Interactive closed a seed round led by Chimera Venture Capital and T-Accelerate Capital, with Ventana Ventures and angel investors Rahul Reddy G, Rohan MC and Nara Srinivas participating.
Money will go towards publishing infrastructure and emerging-market expansion, supporting developers across production, marketing, QA, localisation and distribution.
Why premium is the harder bet
Projections state that India's combined mobile, PC and console revenue past 1 billion dollars in 2025, up from 943 million in 2024, reaching 1.4 billion by 2028 at an 11.1% CAGR. The fastest-growing market in Asia by revenue and player base.
The biggest segment is mobile. Indian studios have built free-to-play expertise at scale and almost no premium publishing infrastructure, which is the gap 1312 will try to fill.
Sridhar Muppidi, chairman of the Game Developers Association of India, stated "India has long been a powerhouse of game development talent, but publishing has remained an untapped opportunity. 1312 Interactive arrives at the perfect moment, bridging the gap between Indian creativity and global markets."
1312 Playground
A community initiative giving studios playtesting, feedback and audience insight before launch, letting developers build player communities during development rather than after release.
For studios without the reach to run their own testing programmes, that's the practical value of a publisher more than any cheque.
