Riot Games has confirmed that the 2025 League of Legends World Championship will take place in China, marking the event's third occurrence in the country. The announcement was made during a sponsorship extension event with smartphone manufacturer OPPO.

The 2017 championship featured matches in four cities: Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, culminating in the final at the Bird’s Nest arena. In 2020, the tournament was hosted in Shanghai amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exact host cities for the 2025 event will be revealed at a later date. The announcement coincided with the launch of OPPO's Find X8 series of mobile phones in Chengdu, where the extended partnership between OPPO and Riot Games was also disclosed, allowing OPPO to remain a global partner of League of Legends esports.
