Riot Games has confirmed that the 2025 League of Legends World Championship will take place in China, marking the event's third occurrence in the country. The announcement was made during a sponsorship extension event with smartphone manufacturer OPPO.
The 2017 championship featured matches in four cities: Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, culminating in the final at the Bird’s Nest arena. In 2020, the tournament was hosted in Shanghai amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
