Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game 2XKO, the company has officially opened the doors for community tournament organizers to get involved — with a clear set of competitive guidelines now in place.
In a blog post published on August 20, Riot confirmed that it will support a grassroots competitive scene for 2XKO, allowing fans and organizers to host their own events ahead of the launch of any official esports circuit.
“We’re super grateful for the hard work of tournament organizers (TOs) everywhere, and we want this to be an easy process for anyone who’s interested in getting involved,” Riot stated in the announcement.
Unlike many official esports titles that require event approval or licensing, Riot Games is taking a more open approach with 2XKO. No application is needed for those interested in running tournaments — organizers simply need to adhere to the published guidelines and use the official 2XKO community asset kit provided by Riot.
The publisher encourages events of all sizes, from major tournaments featured at large fighting game events (like Get On My Level) to smaller local and online brackets. TOs are welcome to run singles, duos, or mixed-format competitions, and events can be held in-person or online.
