ARC Raiders Pauses Expeditions Until 2027 After Five Attempts to Fix Them

This will be the last expedition for a while.
The fifth Expedition will start on 8 September at 4am PT, 12pm BST, 1pm CEST, and closes 29 September at 1am PT, 9am BST, 10am CEST. Then the system goes away until early 2027.
Embark's framing, from its own post: "We've come to realize that some of the issues you've raised, like the tight departure windows, the reward structure, and accessibility, call for bigger changes."
Basically they have been patching around a problem and has decided to stop.

What's different this time
Three changes to the final run before the pause.
Quest progress will be optional to reset. Previously departing meant redoing the entire quest line, which after five Expeditions becomes a chore rather than a fresh start. This is the fix players asked for most.
The window extends from two weeks to three.
There's no Last Call period. Miss the 29 September deadline and that's it, so the extra week comes with a harder cutoff.
What happens during the pause
- Consecutive buffs already earned persist, so nothing is lost
- Anyone completing all five Expeditions has the Zenith Outfit fully unlocked
- Caravans reset, with unfinished ones converting to Ermal Vouchers of equal value, spendable on ARC Parts, Firearm Trades and Ermal offers, or sellable for Coins
- Trials Season closes 22 September and resumes 8 October, a two-week gap
Embark revealed that it will detail the 2027 changes in September.
The gap is already unusual
Previously expeditions used to arrive every two to three months. The current gap between the fourth and fifth is five months, so the slowdown started before this announcement rather than with it.
Add the pause and dedicated players are looking at the better part of a year without a wipe cycle. For an extraction shooter, that's a lot of weight on other systems.
Frozen Trail lands 8 October and now carries most of the engagement load on its own.
Not everyone wants it changed
The community response has been wait-and-see rather than celebration, and there's a wrinkle worth noting. Some players are perfectly happy with Expeditions as they are and don't want them touched.
Embark is redesigning a system that a section of its playerbase likes, based on complaints from a different section. Whatever arrives in 2027 will disappoint someone regardless of how well it's built.
Embark's own pitch for the September window is blunt enough: "If you've been on the fence about departing, now is the time."
