Paramount Pictures has officially partnered with Activision to bring the iconic Call of Duty video game series to the big screen. The new live-action adaptation will mark the first full-length feature film based on the long-running franchise, with Paramount set to develop, produce, and distribute the project.

While financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, industry insiders suggest the agreement may include additional projects beyond the upcoming movie, potentially extending into television.

David Ellison, chairperson and CEO of Paramount, expressed deep personal enthusiasm for the project. "From the first Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty, through Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love," Ellison shared in a statement. "Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly."

The Call of Duty series, which debuted in 2003, has evolved from its World War II roots into a global entertainment juggernaut, delivering blockbuster titles that span historical settings, modern combat zones, and even futuristic battlegrounds. With over two decades of success, the franchise has sold hundreds of millions of copies and developed a passionate fanbase.

Rob Kostich, president of Activision Blizzard, emphasized the importance of staying true to the franchise’s legacy. "Throughout its history, Call of Duty has captured our imagination with incredible action and intense stories that have brought millions of people together from around the world, and that focus on making incredible Call of Duty games remains unwavering," Kostich said. "With Paramount, we have found a fantastic partner who we will work with to take that visceral, breathtaking action to the big screen in a defining cinematic moment. The film will honor and expand upon what has made this franchise great in the first place, and we cannot wait to get started."
