Activision has announced a new chapter for Call of Duty: Warzone esports with the launch of the Resurgence Series, a dedicated tournament circuit focused on the fast-paced Resurgence mode. This initiative brings a total prize pool of $1.2 million and runs throughout 2026, giving players fresh opportunities to compete at high levels and compete for big rewards.
The Resurgence Series steps in as the main competitive pathway for Warzone, shifting emphasis away from larger battle royale formats to smaller, quicker maps. Many fans and pros have felt the previous esports scene needed a boost after some inconsistent years, and this structured approach with more in-person events seems to have generated real excitement in the community.

How the Resurgence Series Unfolds in 2026
Activision Blizzard announced that the action kicks off early with online qualifiers starting on February 9, 2026. These open qualifiers will help determine who advances to the first major offline event.
That leads to the initial LAN tournament at DreamHack Birmingham in the United Kingdom, scheduled for late March. Teams will battle it out for a share of $100,000 in prizes, plus crucial qualification spots toward the season finale.
Next up is another key stop: DreamHack Atlanta in May, offering another $100,000 prize pool and more chances to secure a direct invite to the big championship.
From those two LAN events, a number of top-performing trios earn automatic spots into the culminating event. An additional 22 spots will fill out the field through dedicated Esports World Cup Qualifiers in June.
The grand finale arrives at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, running in July. This championship showdown features a massive $1,000,000 prize pool, crowning the 2026 Resurgence Series champions.
All competitions follow a trios format in the classic kill race style. Points come primarily from eliminations, with bonus multipliers awarded for stronger placements in each match to keep things intense from start to finish.
