CU Boulder has partnered with Alienware, to establish the university's esports and gaming lounge. Alienware contributed a $1.2m donation to fund the lounge, which will showcase the brand's laptops, PCs, peripherals, a broadcast studio, and a designated lounge area. Additionally, Alienware is launching an undergraduate scholarship program for CU Boulder students.
Matt McGowan, General Manager at Alienware, stated “CU Boulder’s national prominence and thriving gaming community attracted Alienware to the university. The growing popularity of esports on campuses offers students the opportunity to participate in organised play, build an on-campus network, and prepare for associated career paths offered throughout the gaming and esports industry.”
