Riot Games has announced the Americas Cup, a new cross-regional League of Legends tournament scheduled for early 2026.The event will feature the second- and third-place teams from the LCS Spring Split and the CBLOL Spring Split. Matches will take place at the Riot Games Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, over five days in a double-elimination format with four participating teams. The first round of upper bracket games will be best-of-three series. All remaining matches, including lower bracket and grand final, will be best-of-five.
The tournament is positioned between the conclusion of the LCS Lock-In on March 1 and the start of First Stand on March 16. An exact daily schedule has not yet been released. There is no prize pool, consistent with Riot’s decision to remove cash prizes from all regional leagues. Instead, qualification grants funded boot camps in South Korea in preparation for the Mid-Season Invitational.
The following teams receive boot camp slots:
Third-place team from LCS Spring Split Second-place team from CBLOL Spring Split Third-place team from CBLOL Spring Split Winner of the Americas Cup
Should a single team qualify through more than one path, the additional slot reverts to that team’s league. As a result, up to four LCS teams could potentially attend boot camps in Korea. Riot Games cited the performance gains from LTA South teams training in Los Angeles before MSI 2025 as the basis for funding Korea-based boot camps this year.
