Team Spirit kicked off 2025 with a bang, securing victory in the first major CS2 event of the year. The Shanghai Major champions delivered a flawless performance in the BLAST Bounty Gauntlet, defeating Eternal Fire in the grand final in a dominant fashion, setting the stage for IEM Katowice.
Both teams had impressive runs to reach the final—Spirit convincingly overcame NAVI in the semifinals, while EF pulled off notable upsets, taking down Vitality and G2. However, it was the first half of the grand final that set the tone, with Spirit racing to a 9-3 lead on the CT side of Anubis. Despite Spirit’s strong start, Eternal Fire mounted an incredible comeback, saving eight map points and eventually securing overtime with a solid T-side performance.

That was as close as EF came, though, as Spirit dominated the following maps—Nuke, Dust 2, and Mirage—with smooth wins and low round counts. The series featured some stunning donk highlights and a memorable eco round victory to clinch the title.
