The path to Wembley is beginning to take shape as BLAST Premier Open Season 2 unveils 12 of the 16 teams set to compete in its online closed qualifier, scheduled from August 27 to September 1, 2025. The qualifier will determine which six squads advance to the highly anticipated BLAST Open Fall 2025 LAN Finals, held at London’s iconic OVO Arena in Wembley.

The dozen teams receiving direct invitations were selected based on Valve's Global Rankings (VGR) as of July, with a diverse mix representing several regions. European powerhouses such as FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, Team Vitality, and MOUZ will be joined by top contenders from CIS including Team Spirit, Virtus.pro, and Natus Vincere. Representing Asia and South America are The Mongolz and Brazil’s FURIA, respectively. Rounding out the list are HEROIC, GamerLegion, and Aurora, all hailing from Europe.

Alongside the invited teams, four additional slots remain up for grabs. These will be filled via the BLAST Rising open qualifiers taking place from August 1 to 3 across four regions—Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Each regional winner will earn a coveted spot in the closed qualifier.

The stakes are high: while the bottom 10 teams in the closed qualifier will split a $70,000 (£53,900) prize pool, only the top six will punch their ticket to Wembley. There, they’ll compete at the BLAST Open Fall 2025 from September 5 to 7 for a $330,000 (£254,100) prize pool and the chance to collect BLAST Frequent Flyers Tokens. These tokens are redeemable after November 16 for a portion of a substantial $2 million (£1.54 million) bonus pool, with shares distributed based on the number of tokens earned throughout the season.

Wembley Arena, long associated with top-tier Counter-Strike competition since 2016, continues its legacy as a major esports venue. Most recently, it hosted the BLAST Premier Spring Final, where Team Spirit emerged victorious in front of a packed crowd of 18,000 fans.
