Charlton Athletic FC has revealed plans to open a Cyberlabs Gaming Box at its stadium, The Valley. Set to launch in March 2025, this innovative space will be located in the Alan Curbishley Stand and promises to offer an exciting blend of gaming and football experiences for fans, brands, esports teams, content creators, and media on both matchdays and non-matchdays.
The revamped gaming box will cater to a wide range of activities, including esports tournaments, live streaming, podcasting, and more. Equipped with consoles, PC gaming setups provided by Unevn, virtual reality stations, and a variety of food and beverage options—both hot and cold—the space is designed for maximum comfort and flexibility. Additionally, visitors will have access to allocated seats in the stand, making it a multi-purpose venue for gaming and sporting events.

The project is sponsored by Cyberlabs, a London-based company co-founded by lifelong Charlton fan Sam Cooke (of Esports Insider), Ed Kim (of New Meta Gaming Arena), and Abdiqani Ahmed (formerly of Lionscreed, a now-dormant UK esports organization). Cyberlabs specializes in advancing digital entertainment within education, sports, community, and leisure spaces. They will be responsible for designing, outfitting, and operating the new gaming box, providing everything from strategic planning to bespoke equipment and operational support.
