In light of allegations involving popular streamer Dr Disrespect, 2K Games, developers of NBA 2K24, has taken decisive action to distance itself from the controversial figure. This decision follows Dr Disrespect's admission of sending messages to a minor via Twitch whispers.
Dr Disrespect, acknowledged the situation however rejected the illegality of his actions. In response, 2K Games announced that all content related to Dr Disrespect, including his character model and associated story modes, will be removed from NBA 2K24 alongside the upcoming Season Eight update scheduled for June 28.

The streamer's gaming studio, Midnight Society, has also severed ties with him, and the San Francisco 49ers announced they will no longer collaborate with Dr Disrespect. Several prominent creators in the gaming community, such as Ninja, Nickmercs, and TimTheTatman, have publicly distanced themselves from him, denouncing his actions.
Recently Turtle Beach also cut ties with Dr Disrespect. While some sponsors, like FanDuel and others historically associated with Dr Disrespect such as Gilette, Mountain Dew, and ASUS, have yet to make public statements regarding their continued partnerships, the streamer faces widespread repercussions.
As Dr Disrespect takes a break from streaming, the gaming community and associated brands are reassessing their relationships with the once-popular figure.
