Ubisoft has officially unveiled Element 5, the latest iteration of its North American tier-two competitive circuit for Rainbow Six Siege, as part of the broader Siege X esports overhaul. The upcoming event brings with it a series of significant changes to competition structure, player eligibility, and broadcast coverage, aiming to refresh the path to pro for aspiring teams in the region.

Announced via Ubisoft’s official X (formerly Twitter) channel, Element 5 introduces stricter entry requirements. All participants must now reside in North America, be at least 18 years old, maintain a clean player record free of active bans, and not be currently signed to a Tier 1 North American League (NAL) roster.

The tournament kicks off this summer with two open qualifiers, each free to enter and following the familiar double-elimination format introduced in Element 2. Up to 128 teams can compete in each qualifier. The top four teams from each event will advance to the next stage, narrowing the field to just eight.

Qualifier #1 is scheduled for June 20–22, 2025, followed by Qualifier #2 from June 27–29.

Following the qualifiers, the competition moves to the Swiss Stage, which introduces eight invited teams into the mix. These 16 teams will face off in a Buchholz Swiss bracket, where match formats vary depending on stakes: promotion and elimination games will be best-of-three, while all others will be best-of-one. Only the top eight will secure a spot in the final phase, while the remaining teams will be eliminated.

Swiss Stage match days are set for July 1, 2, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15.

One of the most notable improvements comes in response to community feedback. Ubisoft has pledged to significantly expand official broadcast coverage during the Swiss Stage.
