Both Finals and Arc Raiders will be on screen.

Nexon signed a deal with Chernin Entertainment, the film and TV division of The North Road Company, according to reports there were more other companies in the list. Chernin will lead producing on both.

Nothing besides these are decided right now.

Patrick Söderlund stated "the next big step in growing Arc Raiders and The Finals into deeply integrated transmedia experiences that reward the passion of our global player community." Embark's creative teams will work directly with Chernin.

Chernin's president of film David Ready stated "Arc Raiders and The Finals are exactly the kind of opportunities we've been building towards at Chernin Entertainment: ambitious global IP with the potential to become major franchises across film and television. Nexon and Embark have created visually stunning, atmospheric worlds that contain countless stories to tell."

The adaptation problem

Arc Raiders has the better foundation for sure, a ruined surface world, humans living underground, machines that came from somewhere. There's atmosphere and a setting. However since it is a multiplayer game there is no protoganist.

The Finals is a bit harder. It's a competitive game show in a world that builds arenas for televised combat, which sounds like a film pitch until you notice the game has no characters to follow, no reason the show exists, and no stakes beyond the match. Of course, they will fill these with stories.

The timing

Arc Raiders launched in 2025 and has sold over 16 million copies, took both best multiplayer at the 2025 Game Awards and the 2026 BAFTAs. The Finals has passed 30 million players across three years, the game has a solid cultlike following.

Film and TV deals follow success, and Arc Raiders is Embark's biggest by a distance. The Frozen Trail update is due shortly.
