Wardogs continues to be one of a kind. So is there an official Wardogs roadmap?
There's a roadmap, published in an official video before launch. The issue is there is no calendar. Bulkhead has named the systems it's building without committing to when any of them arrive.
Contents
In the pipeline
Listed on Steam as not yet ready but in development:
- AFK kicking during seeding, disabling
- Community server favouriting
- Improved warmup activities
- Message of the Day prompt
- Team switching controls
- Tiered priority queues for community servers
Server search by name is confirmed for Season 2. CEO Joe Brammer, on why it might come sooner: "It's so painful, it's pathetic when we were trying to play together AS DEVS earlier, so we might speed that up."
Seasons
Season 1 runs exactly one month. After that, nothing is fixed.
Brammer: "It's going to change in Early Access, season 1 is a month, but then season 2, 3, 4 could be whatever we decide. Developing new content and features is the priority."
The seasonal economy
The part with the most detail attached:
Cash is a renewable seasonal resource, Gold Bars hold long-term value Banked Cash can be optionally exchanged for Gold Bars during a season, at a rate planned to shift daily Cash and XP reset at season end, with remaining Cash automatically converting to Gold Bars Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account permanently Player Skills are planned as permanent progression, with medic revive speed, infantry weapon handling and pilot fuel efficiency given as examples
Exact season duration, conversion rates, caps and the first reset date are all still open.
One confirmed change from the beta: tanks move from the main WARDOGS track into Driver progression, so you'll need to progress through driving to reach them.
Content
- More maps
- New weapons, including entirely new categories
- New vehicles, including fighter jets
- New objective types
- Existing weapons and vehicles rotating out to shift the meta
Brammer: "Each season we will change the order of progression and implement new weapons and vehicles etc. We will also rotate out existing ones. As we build the meta, more and more of the game will be persistant and saved to your account."
Black Market and Vault
Both are roadmap features, explicitly not in the launch build. Day one ships the cash-and-XP economy, not player-to-player arms trading.
Accessibility
Asked about a red-green colourblind friend who can only play as blue, Brammer said it's "on the plans > but not at launch apologies."
