Nodwin Gaming, the India based parent company of Freaks 4U Gaming, announced that it has fully written off its investment in the German esports agency. In a press release, the company said that management saw no chance for a turnaround, so no more funding will be provided.
According to documents dated November 27, 2025, Freaks 4U Gaming filed for insolvency shortly before the weekend. So far, there are no public statements about the exact causes of the insolvency or whether the company hopes to continue operating in any form.
Freaks 4U Gaming has been active since 2011. Under founder and CEO Michael Haenisch, the company grew quickly and became well known in the esports world. It created its own production studios, worked with major publishers, and supported large gaming brands. Just last year, it renewed its long term deal with Riot Games for the Prime League, which covers League of Legends and Valorant. The company received investment from Nodwin Gaming last year.
The company also drew attention at Gamescom 2025 with its 3,000 square meter Pro Arena, built in partnership with SK Gaming. In addition, Freaks 4U Gaming served as the global marketing partner for Gamescom Asia in Bangkok.
However, the business had already been struggling. The company cut jobs, shut down shows such as Summoner’s Inn, 99Damage and the ESL Championship, and changed its strategy by stepping away from influencer management. These actions were part of an effort to deal with heavy financial losses.
