An anime adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima is in the works, based on the game's Legends multiplayer mode. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, with Takanobu Mizuno set to direct the series, produced by anime studio Kamikaze Douga in collaboration with Aniplex.
The anime will premiere on Crunchyroll, Sony's anime streaming platform, in 2027. PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash expressed excitement, saying, "Ghost of Tsushima's rich, immersive world and its fantastical Legends mode based on Japanese mythology provide the perfect canvas for this project." He also added that Aniplex is the perfect partner to bring the hit game to life in anime form.
In addition to the anime, Ghost of Tsushima is also being adapted into a feature film, directed by John Wick's Chad Stahelski. Sucker Punch Productions will serve as an executive producer for the movie. A sequel to the game, Ghost of Yōtei, was also announced at the Game Awards and is set for release on PS5 in 2025.
