Team Vitality emerged victorious at IEM Melbourne 2025, defeating Falcons 3-2 in a hard-fought grand final to claim their fourth title of the season and complete Season 5 of the ESL Pro Tour Grand Slam.
Vitality's Grand Slam campaign included wins at IEM Cologne 2024, IEM Katowice 2025, ESL Pro League Season 21, and now IEM Melbourne 2025. The team becomes only the fifth to ever secure the Grand Slam title, further cementing their dominance in Counter-Strike.
Falcons, winners of PGL Bucharest, were aiming to make it back-to-back titles, but fell short despite a spirited performance. The team is still looking for its first trophy with Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov on the AWP, after recently parting ways with Abdul "degster" Gasanov.
Match Summary Map 1 – Inferno (13-2, Vitality): Vitality dominated the opener, with Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut leading the charge. Falcons failed to string together rounds as m0NESY recorded one of the weakest maps of his career.
Map 2 – Dust2 (16-12 OT, Falcons): Vitality started strong but lost momentum after early aggression from Falcons. Key plays from Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski and René "TeSeS" Madsen helped push the map into overtime, where Falcons took four straight rounds to win it.
Map 3 – Train (13-9, Vitality): Falcons opened with a 5-1 lead, but Vitality recovered to take the map, powered by the leadership of Dan "apEX" Madesclaire.
Map 4 – Nuke (13-10, Falcons): Falcons pushed the series to a decider with strong defensive setups, holding off a late comeback attempt from Vitality.
Map 5 – Mirage (13-8, Vitality): Vitality closed the series with a composed performance on Mirage, sealing the 3-2 series win and the Grand Slam title.
