Ubisoft has officially announced a major leadership change for Rainbow Six Siege X, confirming that Joshua Mills has been named the new Creative Director of the long-running tactical shooter. The news was shared through an official Ubisoft blog post, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise.
Mills takes over from Alexander Karpazis, who has served as Creative Director for the past eight years. Karpazis confirmed he is stepping away from the role to pursue “new challenges within Ubisoft,” though no further details have been shared about his next position within the company.
In his farewell message, Karpazis expressed gratitude to both the development team and the community, writing: “I would like to thank the Siege team for trusting me with the responsibilities of Creative Director and allowing me the privilege to represent their hard work season after season.
“To the Siege community, thank you for giving me a chance and for sharing your vision and love of the game with me. I will see you all at the Six Invitationals.”
Karpazis’ departure comes at a pivotal moment for Rainbow Six Siege X, as the game prepares to enter Year 11. The upcoming year is set to be officially unveiled during a reveal panel scheduled for February 15, which also happens to be the final day of the Six Invitational tournament. He has also confirmed that the 2026 Six Invitational will be his last event as Creative Director.
In his first public statement as Creative Director, Mills thanked Karpazis for his support and mentorship, acknowledging the foundation that has been laid over the past decade.
“Siege has been part of my life for the past decade,” Mills wrote. “But my love for all things Rainbow begins well before that. I have always been drawn to the high-stakes heroics of the franchise, and with my 4+ years on Siege to-date it’s been a dream to have become part of its history.”
